Established in 1948, Tsavo East is the largest national park in Kenya, covering an area of over 13,747 square kilometers.
The park is known for its vast open savannahs, scrublands, and the iconic Galana River that flows through it.
Wildlife in Tsavo East includes large herds of elephants, as well as lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species.
It’s also famous for its “red elephants,” which are coated in red dust from the park’s rich volcanic soil.
Tourist attractions in Tsavo East include the Lugard Falls, the Yatta Plateau (one of the world’s longest lava flows), and the Mudanda Rock.
Your 2 days 1 overnight Mombasa Tsavo East National park and Taita hills Sanctuary ( Salt Lick) road safari begins with a pick up from Mombasa or Diani for a journey through the Mombasa – Nairobi highway, with views of African homesteads en-route to Tsavo East National Park’s Bachuma gate.
Stop briefly for refreshments, then enter the Park and begin game viewing on entry in the direction of our safari lodge/camp for check-in, buffet lunch and short rest.

Wake up at around 5.30 am, have a cup of coffee and start an early morning safari game drive in the Saltlick game sanctuary before the main breakfast. This time you have a chance of seeing the big cats of Saltlick among other animals and bird species before returning to the lodge for the main breakfast.We embark on our trip back to your hotel in Mombasa or Diani en route we have a stop at the Masai village and have a lunch break and we continue back to your hotel arriving in early afternoon.
